I’m sure you’re all wondering why textbooks are so expensive.
I recently had a discussion with Imran Raza, School of Business Instructor at KPU. He states,
“For intro or first year textbooks, where there is a lot of competition between publishers, we select the book based on the best value for our students in terms of quality as well as price. Once we select a text from competing publishers, we then squeeze as much as possible to get a good price for our students, especially for first year courses where there is greater volume involved. We as a department do all we can to get a good price for students as textbooks are becoming more and more expensive.”
