On June 21, 2018, the KPU Marketing Association hosted its inaugural KPU Marketing Student & Alumni Networking Night from 5:00 to 8:00pm. We had the event in the conference center at KPU Surrey.
We invited current students, KPU Alumni, and KPU staff to attend the event to network with each other while enjoying an evening of games, keynote speaker and dinner with proceeds from the event being donated to the Because I Am A Girl charity.
We’re proud to say that the inaugural event was a success! We raised $270 for the Because I Am A Girl at the end of the evening. We had a full house of students, staff, and alumni.
The event started off with opening remarks from Wayne Tebb, the Dean of the School of Business. It followed by our keynote speaker, Danielle Connor, a Vancouver based influencer and graphic designer who spoke to the guests about Networking 101.
The evening ended with some roundtable networking and a Kahoot game to test guests on their knowledge of KPU and marketing.
“It was overwhelming to see this big project come to life. Other than our Marketing Mixer, the KPUMA has never hosted an event as big as this,” says Daman Garcha, KPUMA President.
The KPU Marketing Association would like to thank Wayne Tebb, Danielle Connor, KPU School of Business, KPU Alumni Association, KPU Career Services, KPU staff, Terry Begemann Photography, and Little Rose Party Company for their support in helping us put this event together.
We’re looking forward to hosting the event again next year!
