nabs West Marketing and Event Assistant
nabs is a not-for-profit organization that supports, connects and inspires all Canadian professionals in the marketing and communications industry throughout their careers, by providing services to help equip and protect them from the inevitable ups and downs of the industry. Through the work we do, nabs provides a much-needed source of dignity and stability in an unstable industry. nabs provides a 24/7 toll-free confidential, counselling helpline, (1-888-355-5548) for industry people with
financial, unemployment, illness, injuries, family issues and other challenges. We give a step up in life to
people and ensure that the marketing and communications industry is stronger and more caring.
In 2018, more than 3,000 individuals and families were impacted by nabs, and the need continues to grow.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The nabs West Marketing and Event Assistant is responsible for assisting the nabs West Regional Director and Marketing and Events Coordinator, as well as working with various Volunteers and Board Members on various projects. There is an opportunity to network with those in the marketing and communication industry. Note that this position works remotely, in a home-office environment.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Assisting with event coordination
o Golf Tournament – support nabs West team with an upcoming event on July 23, 2020
• Support all marketing activities and administration with events:
o Eventbrite ticket page and registration management
o E-blasts development and coordination
o Social Media development and posting
o Assist with event day logistics pre-and-post-event, including volunteer management
o Administration – support the Regional Director and Marketing and Events Coordinator
• Assist in developing and implementing fundraising initiatives
JOB SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to manage daily activities with minimal direction
• Computer skills (MS Office) and internet access required
• Communication, customer service and interpersonal skills required
• Ability to accomplish tasks independently and willingness to work as a team
• Organizational and problem-solving abilities required
• Adobe Suite skills are an asset
This position begins on July 13th and ends September 8th, 2020. The position requires 35 hours per week with a wage of $14.60 per hour (hours are flexible).
