As most of you know we recently went through a change in our executive team after our election this October. We are excited to see what our new team will accomplish this year and we wanted to take this time to introduce ourselves to our audience.
Name: Damanpreet Garcha
Position: President
I’m a third year BBA Marketing Student who loves being involved and strongly believes
in the importance of student life. I’ve been actively involved within the KPUMA since my first semester at KPU and have held various leadership roles including Director of Recruitment and Director of Public Relations. Through my roles, I’ve assisted in planning and implementing various events in the past 3 years and loved every part of it! My goal is simple: to host educational and frequent Marketing events at KPU that bring people together that are a result of collaborations that happen with other students. I want to provide students amazing opportunities because I’ve seen the benefits of these networking events we host and I hope to be able to provide as many students access to them as possible. As President, I will work to provide opportunities that are affordable, create a community, expand our students network and bring people together.

Position: Vice President of Communications
Hello, My name is Nancy and I am thrilled to be a part of the KPUMA! Currently, I’m in my third year of the marketing program at KPU and work part-time as a Wine Associate at a wine bar at YVR airport called Vino Volo. I am so excited to be joining the KPUMA as VP of Communications because I feel that my experience at KPU and in the restaurant industry has equipped me with strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills which I believe will translate well into the role. In my free time, I enjoy exercising in the gym or going to yoga classes, or doing outdoor activities such as golfing, hiking, or skiing. Thank you for reading and I look forward to meeting you!

Position: Vice President of Finance & Administration
My name is Bianca and I am currently in my third year of the marketing management program. I love using digital media to express the different passions I have for fashion, food, and travels through my favorite social media platform – YouTube, which is why after I graduate, I hope to pursue a career related to digital marketing. Through the KPUMA, I want to work towards creating a space where students are able to enhance their professional networks as well as strengthen the network within our own marketing program.

Position: Director of Recruitment
My name is Alysa Batmagnai; I’m a 3rd year student in the Human Resources Bachelor’s degree program. I have been the Director of Recruitment for the past 2 and a half years. I’m looking forward to working with the new executive team to accomplish our KPUMA’s goals like creating fun events to gather students and making connections with other universities marketing clubs.
